Lol you have ruined his point good work.
lol yeah dude great work bro lmao
this thread is shitty to be honest, I’m basically agreeing to what you guys are saying, except more people come and notice the title of the thread, and then say why tanks should be added to the game without paying attention to the previous replies.
I’ve pretty much agreed with you guys, I’m just arguing now because you guys are. No constructive discussion is happening here anymore.
I mean can’t others also express their opinions?
no one wants to sit down and read 125 responses and would rather just go off the title, I say we close the thread tbh
Plus nelson already said military vehicles will be in the game in the interview he did with Mr youtube shirt recently
That’s why large topics have a “summarize” button, which takes the highest-rated based on a certain percentage of the total posts.
@anon42100029 I can close the thread if you wish for it.
I've been preparing this reply since yesterday, and it's not really finished, just an unformatted wall of text but it looks like this thread might be closing soon, and I don't know what else to do with it
What is a tank? It’s got treads that are relatively vulnerable, and can be patched in the field, but cannot be replaced without being able to lift the rest of the tank, or atleast the part that the tread must fit beneath, (a regular car jack won’t do the job.) The treads are attached to a number of wheels, which can be removed and replaced by the crew using handtools, if the wheel or suspension gets damaged, though replacement would only be an option if there happen to be spare tank wheels available, most tanks are capable of operating to a limited degree even with a few wheels missing. The suspension system cannot feasibly be removed, but might be tweaked or repaired by the crew depending on the design. The suspension system is built into the chassis which is essentially the backbone of the the tank. Also affixed to the chassis is a hull. While factories may be able to build different hulls onto the same tank chassis, they aren’t really designed to come off. Inside the hull is a powerful fuel hungry engine, which can be repaired to some degree by the crew, but if damaged to the point of breaking or if being salvaged from a damaged vehicle, a crane is generally required to lift the engine out. The hull also has a turret ring, which generally supports a turret, as the name suggests, but may instead be used to support specialized equipment such as cranes or deployable bridges. Usually a turret has mounting points for a maingun, coaxial gun, and a gun by the hatch. There could be a dozer blade, mine plow, mine flail, or mine roller attached to the front or a trailer or impeller to the back. There could be additional storage, up armor kits, camouflage netting, flotation devices, or flare/chaffe/smoke projectors on the outside of the tank. On the turret and hull there are doors and viewports, with hatches that are relatively easy to destroy, remove, or replace. There may also be various sensitive pieces of electronic equipment, including sensors, displays, computers and communicators, which neither you, nor I, nor even most tank crews would get much use out of without software engineers and information networks.
If tanks were to spawn in filled to the brim with all the components, weapons, fuel, and ammunition that could possibly be included in a tank, and all perfectly maintained, then I would agree that they shouldn’t be included. We can probably also agree that just because something is built on a tank chassis doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be included. Instead of saying we should include or exclude tanks, we should be discussing what should or shouldn’t be included on tanks, what they should spawn with and what should be optional upgrades.
I read it all
sounds good, I think something like that would be nice and balanced. Tanks should only feature a tank cannon (and perhaps a mounting point for a heavy gun on the top).
I think if the APC was a tank-like vehicle too, rather than what it is in 3.0 it would be more balanced. It could have a point to mount a gun on the top, holes in the side for guns, and have tracks (a similar thing to the tank).
It shouldn’t be a truck-looking thing like in 3.0.
there should be different kinds of tanks and apcs, and all other vehicles too in my opinion atleast
