Preview branch version 3.24.6.101 is now available. This information may change between now and the update’s official release.

Warning

Please note: New versions on the preview branch are designed to load older saves (backwards compatibility). However, the public branch typically cannot load saves made with newer versions (forwards compatibility). Therefore, if you plan to switch back to the public branch before the update is officially released, we recommend that you avoid loading important saves on the preview branch. Additionally, make sure to back up any maps before saving them in the level editor.

Not gonna lie, I find this update even more interesting than the vehicles ones. All of this new craftings to the vanilla game, the accessibility options, stockpile items preview, finally disabling the skybox option, disabling the detailed trees, buffing the sentrys, nerfing the two most op things on the game (adaptive and maplestrike)

The accessibility option to completely disable flinch and explosion shake is quite extreme and will be disabled by most players to gain a competitive advantage, exactly like “grass: off” used to be. In my opinion there should be still some downsides to having it off, maybe a screen overlay that would still block your vision while reducing nausea, or maybe the mechanic could be fine-tuned / reduced instead of being nullified.

The flashbang change is great! It does not negatively affect anyone who has the setting tuned to a specific level, while still helping those who find the bright white light problematic. I do quite like vantablack flash effect instead of pure white.

i just think that nerfing maplestrike sorry killing maplestrike and adaptive is not gonna help any better
and also skybox ambience was a cool thing that i ve been using for years why its being removed too i dont understand in my opinion this is a bad update mainly on maple / adaptive

How does Object Dialogue actually work?

Our modding documentation was updated as part of the PTB. :slight_smile:

Key properties:

  • Set Interactability enum to Dialogue
  • Use Interactability_Dialogue to specify the GUID of a dialogue asset.

With the trees option removed, will there eventually be a photoshoot competition again? I’m really looking forward to that.

I think the method of removing the grip slot is too radical, it would be better to just increase the recoil and spread

Also, removing the skybox function is also unnecessary, because the night, although it becomes darker, becomes much more atmospheric (I will attach screenshots)

yes nerf maplestrike when zubeknakov was always secretly stronger due to durability and firerate and better location

I do expect that a lot of PvPers will turn it off completely. I was back and forth on how to handle this change for a while. If Unturned were purely a PvE game it would be a no-brainer to allow turning off every feature that potentially causes motion sickness. This led me to think that no game mechanic should be balanced around a feature that causes motion sickness. I experimented with only offsetting your crosshair aim rather than your view, but this made me question the flinch in the first place. I think one of the original reasons for flinch was to make it clearer which direction you were shot from, and with vanilla’s low time to kill the extra punishment making it harder to shoot back is unnecessary. Roll flinch (new default) like older versions doesn’t affect aim while still providing some directional information. I might add an on-screen red directional indicator in a future version.

Conversely, I think your screenshots are a great example of why it was a problematic option! The map could look extremely different depending on the lighting settings, whereas now level designers can be confident setting the color of ambient light. If you darken the ambient light on your map it will look closer to the first setting. Ultimately, the skybox ambience setting was capturing the sky colors to a cubemap and using them as ambient light colors, so if you match your ambient light colors to the sky colors in the editor it will look similar to before.

What is referred to by aircraft do you mean the fighters jets?

What exactly does this mean are Speedtrees just gone?

What items are specificially effected by this?

please do not remove speedtrees, they make the game look much better , if you nelson think they are giving advantage for other people like when they switch them you know maybe an option for a server to disable them?

I’m probably in the minority but I like to think of this game as a survival game first and a pvp deathmatch second. Nerfing your more powerful and rare items in a survival game gives players less to work toward. Nerfing of the Maplestrike and Adaptive Chambering is going to be an excellent addition to the game for your 10x servers, your kit pvp, and your typical deathmatches. However for Vanilla servers this is going to make your endgame sooner. I’m just going to pickup a Heartbreaker and call it a day. Personally I think that updates should be catering toward the original intent of the core game design rather than what it has become with the addition of Rocket Mods. Vanilla players are dwindling and these players don’t need a sooner endgame, which will lead to less incentive to continue playing. Again this will be a fantastic change for plugin based servers, just hoping for to get a voice out for the survival players.

Many items that weren’t previously salvageable. :slight_smile: E.g., iron sights, various explosive items, various traps/barricades, flares…

Basically: less items dropped on the ground; and more sources for things like metal scrap, chemicals, and explosives.

Yes – SpeedTrees have been on the chopping block for quite a while now.

And other military aircraft available on the Russia map.

Why? In general, this update is good. Why you did this to maplestrike :frowning: It was my favorite weapon. I really liked to make pictures with different grips but now… It is just ruined… Now this update will force me to make one of the hardest decisions. To leave the game or to master new maplestrike. But I think it will be so bad that I would choose another weapon over to it… Sad update for me

My whole gameplay in Unturned was dedicated to PVP. Nothing else. Maplestrike and katana are my only fav weapons. This will still be one of my favorite games on Steam until this update comes out. And while this update is not there, I will be able to enjoy this game perhaps for the last time. I only played this game for these two weapons. It was the only reason for my gameplay. You’d better make more recoil rather then deleting grip attachment. Like bruh whyyy. Make more recoil idk. And the Adaptive Chamber is not the biggest problem for me, but removing the handle is the worst thing there is. I have an extremely negative attitude towards this update. I hope something will change in the future… I really really hope.

So after playing through most of the liberator questline (for some reason i couldnt get laurence to give me the mysterious papertrail quest, it just wouldnt show up after doing the poster quest) i do enjoy being able to buy the modified bluntforce and ace incase i lose them at any point in a playthrough.

8 out of 10 dosent contain bounce landmines
