Replacement Trees Discussion

How about using less vertices and making it look a bit less dense for the low quality? It would also be nice for mods that want to aim for high quality but still let low end players run them.

I would say that trees look much better now. They are more realistic right now.
I don’t know if anyone sees this, but I really like that certain sharp point that’s left after cutting down a tree. It looks cool, not just a smooth surface, nice detailing.

Whether it was done intentionally or not, it’s interesting that it’s now much easier to climb some trees only jumping. I don’t know what to say about camping on the trees situation right now. It looks like it is easier right now to camp, but on the other side it looks like enemies will easily spot you.
Can you spot a camper with a white skin :D?
Answer: Camping at the top of the left tree with the Grizzly, hope you did well.

Now about the tank, I really love this detail (tank caterpillars). Looks so awesome!


I have a suggestion for changing the tank, like add a slowdown when turning the cabin, because I can turn it very quickly and this doesn’t make sense. Such detail will be like a small improvement in the mechanics of the tank.

I am also really happy to see that you can actually turn the tank while standing still, just by pressing A or D. I wanted to see this in the game a really long time ago.

Now about the Bugs:
While riding the tank, I’ve encountered some kind of bug that in my opinion shouldn’t be there. If you ride the tank from the 3rd person and slightly lower the camera, you can see through the tank and see the character. Maybe this is not really a bug but it is still in the game, not only in the preview branch.

One more Bug with the gravity of the tank. It feels like a feather :joy:

Edited: I was kinda wrong. This issue happens to all of the vehicles in the game. Even on the original version of the game.

Another Bug I think that I noticed is Zombie Pushing. It is very weird that a zombie can easily push any vehicles like this. If you can see in the end, zombie can easily lift the tank xD. I am serious, according to my tests, zombies push tank much harder than any other vehicles. I didn’t really show this in the video but I think you got the idea.

Not gonna lie, they easily lift the tank xD I can’t even do anything, sometimes they just launch me in the air very very high.

Also going back to the tank, sometimes after blowing up the tank, scrap spawns under the tank. I also think that if you are reworking the tank maybe to add some new kind of death animation to the tank?

I’d like to add one more thing about the tank. It is still possible to hide in the texture of the tank cockpit. Is this going to be fixed or do we leave it that way??

New trees look significantly better, my only suggestions would be to introduce some slight texture & model (i.e leaves of slightly different length, different length/density of branches, etc.) variation, as well as adding a tiny bit more detail to the dead trees as they do still feel a tad bland at the moment, despite the noticeable improvement.

Oh, I also forgot to say it. Indeed it would be great to change the texture of leaves and in general what @Whupps said.

May be graphics settings but normals seem a little strange in this screenshot. Maybe normal edit needs adjustment?

I noticed you added snowy bushes, and i think it would be cool to also to have other trees/foliage snowy variants



ngl kinda boring to see only snowy pines evrywhere, like birch forest in russia or mixed forest of maple and birch in PEI


and of course, the complete lack of snow in Germany (except for the peaks of da mountains)

I personally dislike the alpha/image cards and would opt for nothing at all or small branches made with actual geometry(or perhaps better looking textures?). Also maybe some more crookedness to the lower trunk part.

I quite like the idea of replacing the hedges and overgrowth, as well as doing the event on Germany. Not enough time before the update but I’ve made a note for next year’s winter event!

Broken trees would look nice in the Russia and Germany deadzones. Perhaps we can do that as part of further graphics revisions?
