Tank and armored vehicles/military munitions

@KingFrog please, when you read these, keep in mind that I am also taking into account the second thing that Unturned has turned into. It is not only a survival game now, but a game in which there exists a large amount of servers with kits , with obtainable vehicles. Look at the OzzieGaming server, it’s covered in tanks and APCs, and the skies are equally filled with helicopters.

Can a little smoke grenade cause the wall of thick mist that is shown in the three photos above? No, it can probably cause a little nuisance when in a small room, but it can’t split villages in half. It can’t conceal something that well, and it certainly won’t stun and disorient the dude you’re trying to kill, turning an across-the-street engagement into a close-quarters shootout at knife range.

He means that people will go use smoke shells everywhere at his base so it’s really annoying to get around inside.

Won’t they be too rare to do that with?

This isn’t War Thunder where we need 200 different shell types and smoke generators and a dozen turrets as well as weak points and special armors.

Simply have three seats. Driver, Gunner, and a ‘commander’ seat where they could use a remote 50 cal.

Two shells. He does what you’d think it’d do and performs similarly to 3.0’s shell. AP deals more damage to vehicles and buildings, but has a smaller radius and is less effective against personnel.

Weak points are unneeded because it’s not a tank warefare sim.

Camo would be pretty dope, but unless it’s coming to all land vehicles and maybe boats it’s a bit unneeded in that case.

Night Vis seems pretty neat for a tank, and if Nelson could get Picture-in-picture working like Arma’s latest DLC - Tanks - added, it’d be a totally good idea to have monitors show what’s outside the tank and viewports to outside.

Weakpoints of vehicles were already mentioned on the 4.X wishlist. Varying bullet penetration was already mentioned in the 4.X Devlog. I don’t see why that’s so far fetched. I don’t think AP shells should have any blast radius. They should be very big slugs with great penetration and high damage. Firing them should be much more costly than firing small arms ammunition, but not as costly as firing explosive shells.

Well, AP shells do have blast radius, but the blasts are just a lot smaller.

I believe you’re thinking of APCR rounds, which are the tank’s equivalent of a slug (no explosive ordinance, relies on sheer radiative force and shrapnel potential to inflict damage)

I’m thinking of ye olde AP rounds, which were lead or iron slugs, sometimes with steel or even tungsten penetrators. HEAP rounds I wouldn’t argue are something that would be beneficial to Unturned.

@KingFrog What opinions here do you agree with? I still personally think that a tank needs to contain more that one person, and have different armor thickness on its side and back, as that mechanic is being added anyway.

I do like the idea of multiple people needed to pilot the tank, but I would prefer if there’s a rare chance to find a tank but a high chance of the tanks gun being broken or extremely damaged, which could cause the shell to explode when fired?

I’d rather the tanks occasionally being found with missing or inoperable guns than with guns that explode. Either there wouldn’t be enough of an indication of whether the gun was safe to fire, or it would be obvious and the possibility would be irrelevant.

Well I want it to be obvious, like maybe the turret cannon bend for damaged or the turret tilted, and completely smashed if broken, the gun I mean.
